The Jewish Congregation Mickve Israel, which is one of the oldest in the country, will shortly become possessed of a bequest of $100,000, its inheritance under the will of Hyman Gratz, which now becomes operative through the death last week, at Chestnut Hill, of Horace A. Moses. Hyman Gratz, who died forty years ago, was a brother of Rebecca Gratz, who was immortalized by Sir Walter Scott in Ivanhoe. The trust in question was intended by her brother as a memorial to her, and is "for the establishment and support of a college under the direction of the Portuguese Hebrew Congregation Kaal Kadosh Mickve Israel of the City of Philadelphia
